Now that we've all learned that the Grand Staircase is the entire region that comprises of these natural wonder, let's now move on.

Next up is my 4 hr ride thru Utah route 12. A scenic byway that was largely empty.

115. As a motorcyclist, these are kind of roads that make it a joy to ride.
(Straight roads are the most boring on which to bring a sporty vehicle - be it a car or a bike).

The sun was directly shining down and the contrast was super flat. This was the best I could do.

Hi Sashi,

Indeed, it is great to see this journey taken in the 'opposite direction' from ours! I was also pleased you got to enjoy the delights of UT12 - especially on a motorbike; that must have been a great experience? Your images from here are really different to mine; the trees you show I believe are Aspens but they were just transitioning to the bright golds and yellows when we went through - but the spring green actually makes a rather pleasing contrast.

I think we must also have stood on the same piece of ground for #126 - that's a pull out for a view over the piece of land which was the last to be connected by road I seem to recall? I like the B&W conversion there - one can have too much desert ochre and yellow!

For #131 you have definitely seen something we never have; water (and a waterfall at that) in Bryce; this to me is something of a 'special' image as it isn't often shown with water in the park (though there are clearly times when there is lots of it), so a big thumbs up from me on that one.

Then you finish on two images at locations which I believe are grossly under visited (as you mentioned): Kodachrome State Park and Valley of Fire. As these were 'early' in our trip perhaps we were too easily overawed, but Kodachrome especially was a super place to visit and full of more unique geology than I expected. And there is no such thing as a 'Cliched Shot' from here!

As I have already said, this has brought back so many fond and special memories of our time there and your images have definitely done the whole location justice. The addition of doing it on a motorbike must have made this rather special.

Ah, I see. Google photos has generated that very long URL and a random substring of the URL seems to have offended the web filters.
