ChrisH: Something tells me you haven't touched your D5D in a while...

The A700 only ever 'gets' me when I set a custom WB and I forget to reset it when I pop up my flash. I wish there was a "Use Flash WB when flash is used" ala Pentax K10D.

You can also tap the WB button WHILE looking through the viewfinder, and change settings with the front and rear dial WITHOUT taking your eye off. The only brand that lets you set everything through the viewfinder is Olympus.

With the A100, I used Auto ISO (100-400) but in dark areas, ISO1600. I think it's very very obvious after you see your first ISO1600 shot that you need to set it back. Remember this is digital, you may chimp! :D

Actually, the A700 doesn't have any wheels or knobs. It has two control dials and one mode dial.

I presume you mean the front and rear control dials, and the Exposure Mode dial.

What about the Focus Mode and Metering Mode switches?

Forget all that stuff. What I really want to know is does it have "Sanjuro" mode. I don't care if it is a button, knob, wheel or menu selection.

The manual identifies them both as as levers. Not what I would have called them, but they didn't ask me. They consider the diopter adjustment control to be a dial, also.
