Just tested my A99ii and it's only doing the live view at the Lo setting. Mid, High and High+ are all slideshow.

I don't know. Here is a video from DPReview that starts by showing the 8 FPS live-view on the A99II. The live-view flickers with blackouts, while the slide show does not flicker.

Edit: Quick secondary test and the A99ii can indeed do live view in Lo, Mid and High settings if I turn the display quality down to standard. If the display quality is set to High it will only do Live view in the Low setting.

Ah! Thanks! I bet that setting works the same way on my A7III.

Funny enough I've never really thought about the difference (didn't even know about it until 10 minutes ago!), mine's always lived with it's Display Quality set to High, might be worth starting to experimenting with it when it comes to BIF and erratic action. The slide show effect can be a pain sometimes when it comes to tracking fast subjects.

Ok so I tried to find a place where I can change the display quality on my a77ii. But I couldn't find anything. Is it hidden in the menus somewhere?

Not available in any A-mount body other than the A99II.

The a6000 is 11fps in the regular shooting modes. There's no stupid "special mode" to shoot at a faster speed.
One significant point to consider: α77 II does have larger buffer than α6000, thus even if the latter may offer better fps performance you can record little less action with it.
