Hi,

got an a68 yesterday and I'm not sure what will work on it's flash shoe and what won't. I've got an adapter for my Jessops 360AFDS that works flawlessly so far.

Now I'm looking into wireless systems for 1-2 flashes like the Neewer Wireless Speedlite, something that will trigger whatever you put on the receiver(s). There's not much info by googling around, the Neewer sender looks like it will fit the a68 hot shoe, but will it work? There's mentions of "won't work with Sony" but I think this means the older hot shoe like on the a580 for example? Can anyone enlighten me?

I guess I could always order the set from Amazon and return it if it doesn't work...

The Minolta 3600 HSD and 5600 HSD are coming up on ebay at superb prices (if you're not selling) - these are the Sony HVL-36AM and HVL-56AM in their original guises. Ideal for the A68 with a suitable adapter (also available cheaply). But make sure they are HSD, not HS - the D indicates digital compatibility.

The A68 will wirelessly trigger the Minolta 3600HS(D) 5600HS(D) Sony HVL-F42am HVL-F58am HVL-F43m HVL-F60m etc. with the built in flash as the control flash. I have the SMDV FlashWave-III Wireless Remote Flash Triggers & Transmitter: works fine in bright daylight or situations where line of sight will not work. (If you go with wireless triggers and transmitter use S-Type Bracket Holders with Bowens Mount and save the shoes). On the a68 and a99 bodies I like the Sony hvl-f43m because of the Quick Shift Bounce and wireless flash operation, no adapter required.

Ok great, thanks! I'm thinking about how to light up the living room come Christmas etc., that's why I'm looking into options for triggering flash(es).

This is probably overkill and something I'll only be using once or twice though, since my Jessops works fine with adapter... I'll be keeping an eye out for one of the Minolta models to trigger remotely, should be quite enough for my use cases.

The best price to performance value is the Minolta 5600HS(D)
