When the A77 is set to the RAW & JPEG option, does anyone know which JPEG option (Standard, Fine, Extra Fine) is being saved with the RAW image?

Just took my old A77 out of storage and tested it.
RAW + JPG resulted in a 6100Kb JPG file
Extra Fine JPG was an 11800Kb file
Fine was 5900Kb
Standard was 3900Kb.

Kinda hints towards the RAW+JPG is recorded as Fine, the Gary Friedman A77 guide also seem to show the same results.

And boy do I need to give that A77 some love, a year and a half on a shelf without use and all the rubber grips are starting to get sticky.

My α77 has been replaced long time ago, but I believe it indeed is one of these older Sony models where JPEG+RAW yields only Fine quality JPEGs, the newer cameras have included JPEG quality selection also when you shoot JPEG+RAW. Sadly I cannot remember which model was the first with this feature...

When in doubt, check the user manual:

File format: RAW (Records using the RAW compression format.) + JPEG
A RAW image and a JPEG image are created at the same time. This is suitable when you need 2 image files, a JPEG for viewing, and a RAW for editing.
The image quality is fixed to [Fine] and the image size is fixed to L.
