A7R3 Firmware 2.0 Installed. Lets do some Focus tracking with the A7R3 and the LA EA3 Adapter and my sony 70 - 300 G and Sony 28 - 75 A mount lenses. We are going to use the tv and a football game. (I know this is not real life guys), but it can be used for moving objects just to do a simple non scientific test. You will notice a difference in the two lenses for sure. The 70 - 300 with the ssm handles the fast action tracking much better than the 28 - 75. Both will track and yes...you will get in focus shots from both. Thanks for watching.

Gary, do you happen to have a Kenko DGX teleconverter and any SSM II lenses (the APS-C 16-50, 18-135, and 55-300 included)? I am wondering if the focal length and aperture get corrected by those teleconverters on updated LA-EA3's and non-A9 cameras. (I'm interested in original firmware behavior too, but it is a bit late for you to test that.)

Neither of the lenses you mention are II's. The tracking might be better with II's on the updated LA-EA3.

Better tracking would be a reason for me to upgrade to an LA-EA3 if/when I get a body that supports AF-C with those adapters.

I don't think that lock on AF is of much use when tracking.

I prefer expandable flexible spot from far.

Anyway, still no 8 fps while tracking or yes ?

Lock on when shutter controlled may actually be of some use. Its seems better than on the A99, about the same as a77ii, but I need to do real life testing and use it for a day or two to know what the keeper rate would be.

Still limited to 3fps with Focus between shots.
