The A7RII offers a number of options to select the aspect ratio, which I find useful but a bit confusing.

Do I understand right, the native aspect ratio of the sensor (to utilise the maximum possible amount of sensor real estate) is 3:2?

If I want to maximise the full sensor area for shooting full frame video, should I also set the ratio to 3:2?

Then there is crop or APS-C mode, which is useful for filming video in certain situations, but am not sure if the optimal aspect ratio (for utilising as much of the sensor as possible in this mode) is the same as for full frame video shooting or not?

As far as video goes, both full frame and crop utilize less resolution than the sensor provides, both are supersampled then 'down-rezzed' to 4k/1080p output so no worries there a ssd is de from slight crop in aps-c mode IIRC
