Screw drive A-mount lenses will only work with the A6600 (and its imminent successor, the A67700) using the LA-EA5 adapter. There is probably no advantage if the A6000 is matched with the LA-EA5, compared to the A6000-LA-EA3 combo.

Only the a6600 and future a6700 ?

My a7Riv works great with the LA-EA5 , and I believe does the a7Rv , a7iv and a1 .
Please correct me if I'm wrong about the a7iv .

The A6000 is absolutely hopeless with the LA-EA3, it occasionally hits focus, but incredibly slowly. I assume the LA-EA5 will be as bad, but I guess I should try it and see. The 4 and 2 are the only ones that work properly.

As far as I know the LA-EA5 and LA-EA3 behave exactly the same with SSM lenses on the same body .
So on an a6000 , expect them to behave the same .

It is the A6000, not the adaptor, that is the problem. It doesn't use the on sensor Phase Detect AF with adapters, it only uses contrast detect AF and those DSLR lenses are optimised for PDAF. So, that is why I said forget about the A6000 for adapted AF lenses.

Also, the A6x00 series is so much fun with small AF lenses. Less so with bulky AF DSLR lenses.

The A6000 actually works better with the native emulation EF adapters than the A7II does. Sony just chose to limit the capability of the A6000/A5100 with Sony adapters.

The AF of the A6000 in general was better then the A7ii. I don't know about the Viltrox and Metabones adapters, but with the Sigma MC-11 the A6000 is also limited with adapted lenses. My experiense:

A6000 + LA-EA1 + Zeiss 24-70: slow contrast based AF
A6000 + LA-EA1 + Sigma 35/1.4 Art: don't get an AF lock on

A6000 + Sigma MC-11 + Canon 17-40/4: slow contrast based AF
A6000 + Sigma MC-11 + Canon 24/2.8: slow contrast based AF but lock on iffy
A6000 + Sigma MC-11 + Sigma 35/1.4 Art: Perfect AF, like a native lens
