So I just got two calls for two distinct assignments neither of which I have done before (not the pics but the job) :
1. Newly founded organization wants pictures of the 7 people on the board/aka the founders as a group and as well indivdual portraits (since the studio will be set up anyways). So 3 group shots and I'm guessing 2-3 shots individually each. They will be using the pics to promote their organization and themseleves - advertising, website,linked-in etc. 2. Pretty much the same thing but in this case it's a medical clinic wanting pictures with their staff for promoting the clinic : calendars, flyers etc. commercial unlimited use. I usually do weddings , baptisms and some family portraits and have never done commercial work. I charge a couple around 250$-300$ for a 1- 1 and 1/2 hour session at their place with around 25 fully edited pictures at the end of it on a cd, no prints. So how does commercial work....work? I'm based in Montreal if the pricing is market sensitive. Thank you in advance for your anwsers, Mihai Muntean Photographyarcreation.ca |

I don't have any experience in commercial pricing, but I'd start with the "universal rule" of pricing: Figure out your true total cost (including a "salary" for yourself), and then triple it. You don't have to follow it exactly, but it should give you a guideline. |
