Brandy, honestly its hard to tell, at least for me, if anything it would be incremental.
Now a peacock would be a good test subject |

I think it is better then a normal crop, but not by that much. I think the AF system is impressive. There is no EXIF, but I guess it is taken with the A1 as you mention the picture is 50mp. It is an impressive camera. The AI seems to double the cropping capabilities I feel. For comparison:
This is the full picture with the A6400 and 70-350G @ 350mm ![]() And a straight crop with a little sharpening with PSP2018): ![]() I feel with a little extra attention (and PP capability ![]() In the end there is no magic. Better software will result in better results as your picture shows. I am somewhat looking for a new RAW converter because I doubt there will be an update of RAWTherapee - so keep us updated ![]() |

Will do addy. Yes it was the A1 and I would certainly suggest you have a look at ON1RAW 2022, plenty of you tube demos available to give you a good indication of it's capabilities. |

Im an On1 user and I've got to say that NoNoise AI is very impressive. I still shoot with the A800 / 900 so anything at ISO 1600 and above can be very noisy. Now 1600 is super clean even when increasing the exposure in post a lot.
I've played around with the sky swap, it's not really my thing but, its an option Im glad to have. It too has very impressive results. Im still trying to understand all the benefits of the new Resize AI. I never up-scalee my file size. But I guess if you do some heavy cropping you can adjust your pixel count back to near original file size and not loose detail or have to deal with the artifacts. that too sounds like a nice option.. On1's interface does seem quite intuitive with most features. I like it. Still miss Aperture. |
