Looking up for the plane id on Flightradar24 revealed that VH-OQJ is today flying QF93 from Melbourne to Los Angeles and apparently it took less common route as previous two QF93 flights have started the journey by taking off towards south and then heading towards east rather than north. Probably wind conditions dictating which direction is more optimal for take offs.

Thanks Heikki, what a fascinating site, a new one to me but I shall be making more use of it. We don't get much traffic here, the only regulars are too and from N.Z.

Very nice set, Fred! I especially like No. 1 because of the clouds and sky setting a nice mood! No.4 might be our direct Delta flight from Salt Lake City! That flight is usually full, so of course a very popular route, in both directions. Utah is popular destination as is Amsterdam. Still, wish Delta had a direct flight to Frankfurt! TFS!

Yes, the dramatic clouds make these stand out.

After digging the capture time from EXIF data and looking at Delta flights to/from Amsterdam from Flightradar24, I think this is DL165 to Minneapolis. Perhaps, Fred could look at the original photo file and see if it would be possible to zoom and see if the airplane registration is legible, which could reveal the details of the route this plane is taking.

Good work Heikki! Of course I was just guessing and I know there are direct flights from a number of terminals in the USA. I've flown the SLC to Amsterdam flight a couple times. Arrival time in Amsterdam from SLC should be about 10 a.m.
