Hi Neil. I go to Gosforth Park nature reserve just north of Newcastle. The deer there can come and go as they please. The reserve is a heavily wooded area so getting a clear view of them is very difficult and they are not used to people so get spooked very easily .

i'm not shure how effective a hide would be for deer,as they tend to just wander around over a large area.for bird's and such there great because you set them up where you know they'll be again.
i think your better off with camoflaged clothing and just tracking them is best. smell is a dead give away too.don't wear deoderant and it's best not to use soap to wash with for a few days before you go there.any strong fragrance will be smelt by them a long time before they see you. it would be worth you stating a new thread in the open talk forum titled something like "advice on wildlife photography in the U.K " , and state in your opening post your main interest is deer but keep it fairly open. you will get a lot more hit's and will probably get lot's of suggestions. i only spotted your question as i was on this section by chance. |

Kenko makes a nice set of three extension tubes. I have their 6 or 8mm tube that I use on the Nikon mount Samyang 85 f/1.4. Even though you stack the adapter onto the A7, it works great--no play and I can focus much closer than the lens allows stock.

What about Playmemories camera apps? Or should this go to E-Mount Accessories only?

overeema, you might noticed that the index is not updated (see vertical grips, for example), but it still contains a useful information and therefore we keep it.
Any contribution in updating the index is welcome. As for E-Mount accessories, E-Mount is relatively new to be supported in this forum. I will start a discussion about it among the AMAE team. |

Ahoy!
Question . . it says in the previous page (scroll to top and look at the categories) that vertical grips form part of this thread yet there is zero data and states Not available yet. Bearing in mind when this thread was formed, what's the Dyxum take on there being no data for that specific section in the accessories thread list? Just asking, so please don't aim your keyboards at me |

Well , you can't rush these things . When the thread was started the a700 had only been announced in the September , and the a100 didn't have one anyway . |

Ahoy Neil! Quite right! You can't rush these things, but surely there must be a sort of cut-off time? FYI, the A100 did have 2x VG options which were the DICAIN VG-1 and there was also the Ownuser brand. Have a look here. You might've just learned something that you didn't know yesterday |

If the knowledge base was to include grips from third parties , then yes the a100 had one , as does all Sony DSLR's and SLT's even if they only have a shutter release and no other controls. Sorry , I should have been clearer in saying no OEM grip. A data base , to be complete , should include third party options. I still have my a100 (though rarely used these days)and both the DiCain and Ownuser grip's . The Ownuser grip is a very bad fit ,stupidly designed, blockie P.O.S ,not recommended. The DiCain was was perfectly molded and a very solid design . Had Sony made a grip for the a100 , they would have made it like this . It only fitted one battery but had a shutter release whose cable and plug neatly came out of it's body and plugged into the camera socket. Unlike the Ownuser grip who had a long cable coming out of the wrong end to it , clearly a battery pack rather than a VC grip sold for many different brands DSLR's. Once I fitted the DiCain grip , I don't think I've ever taken it off . So that's the first review of the (then) available grips for Sony's first DSLR . Images of both types can be supplied if required should a complete data base be created . Edited by neilt3 - 03 October 2016 at 10:34 |
