Around four weeks ago we suspended a newly-registered member - Sonya580 - for soliciting donations of equipment.

This is something that we do not allow; however we suspected that this person was one John Humphries of Epsom, Surrey, England who, when registered as 'Jabba1966' pulled the same 'impoverished student' fraud and subsequently defrauded a Dyxum member in Italy by taking money and then shipping an empty box with a derisive message in it.

We do not publish suspensions as a rule but in this case we making an exception.

The same person has also registered in the past as 'Sonya300' and 'oldcodger'.

We are taking action to prevent his return in any guise but we ask you to be vigilant when buying equipment as he has 'threatened' to return.

This person - with his multiple aliases - has been the perpetrator of, to our knowledge, one of only two fraudulent transactions conducted on Dyxum.

Please be assured that we will maintain our vigilance, we ask you to do the same by being equally vigilant and following the simple guidelines here at a minimum.

Thousands of transactions go smoothly to the benefit of both buyer and seller. This may appear an overreaction to one fraudster but it is our remit to let you know.
