beats me, not a clue...
perhaps we could see more if you had used a proper lens?
not 1 that seems to belong on a projector?
(my stupid guess?)

It belonged to a projector indeed. That was in a poor state, so left that with the seller
It's a kinon superior 5cm

Congrats Fred!

Saves you the trouble to take it to the dump. I have a reasonable projector that is collecting dust that has to go. Mechanically sound, everything electrical a fire and shock hazard as the isolation is crumbling...

CONGRATS indeed!

does this mean that WE can use Kinon too?
and that I wasn't torturing myself by looking at Paul- and Leo's mesmerizing pics?
pls feel free to vent all about adapters/connections?

Congrats Fred. Your first Kinon.
I'm surprised you used it on A99, must be very close photography.
It's a good idea to get only the lens. Most sellers don't mind if you ask, and sometimes you can get the lens a bit cheaper.

Just killing time on a delayed return flight from Cardiff airport delay at the moment . Fortunately I am not a football fan.

Thanks all! Indeed my first Kinon. Initially seller wanted to sell the whole set only, but the price was reasonable, so not a discount. Convinced him not to spoil the planet by shipping waste around
Just wanted to see if I could make it work in the A99ii (to avoid E mount investment LOL). Used an improvised adapter, but it is quite short focus range indeed. Basically no room for a focussing helicoid.
Still have a borrowed Nex5, so will try it on that as well. Free lensing showed that focussing could be done much further on the NEX. Not sure about infinity yet, but that will not be the main use anyhow.

On APSC you'll miss out on all the good stuff Fred! If I look into my cristal ball I see A7 in your future....

(could you check mine too Paul? )

gosh, can't wait to see what the next episode will bring ...of the Kinon A-mount adventure.
and if you can make it swirl.

TY Peter! swirler here, swirling all over the place...
(that pic? love the colours and the light, but it didn't pass the committee. there is a swirl though. ;-)).

more seriously... thought there were people here interested in the Trioplan 50 swirl?
and therefore trying to show where it is? (why else would I post a gazillion weird pics? since I already know where to find it.
hoping for the day I can use it as a BG in a 'normal' pic?).
rumour went...
and 'this' is what they showed and 'this' what they said -about it-: <Depending on the distance between the focused motive and the background, the bubble bokeh begins softly to swirl.>
(I still don't see it? ).
not a single T.50 swirl to be found through Google? (but annoyingly our posts appear).
but learned that Primoplan can produce swirly-ish bokeh too.

+ tangential astigmatisma, pentakaidecagon and other funny words.

That is true about APS C.
You know that cristal balls in the hand of photographers do not give a fair view, but put the world upside down?
