Excellent question, current weatherforecasts are not helping

Buienradar predicts dry tomorrow as of 9:00 and all day sunday
Buienradar Antwerpen 5-daagse

Meteovista predicts rain all saturday but dry sunday afternoon
Meteovista Antwerp 48 hours
Meteovista Antwerp 14 days (click on sunday to see morning/afternoon/evening)

My general experience is that Buienradar is slightly optimistic in their forecasts while Meteovista is slightly pessimistic. But in this case that doesn't help much, both have not been nominated for the "weatherforecasters hall of fame"

So sunday seems a safer bet but I don't mind taking the risk for saturday. What do you all think?

Maybe we take another look mid-afternoon and see if anything changed significantly but I would like to take a final decision today so everybody knows when to come.

There's a paid Q-Park Antwerpen Astridplein which is next door to the Zoo.

Lower budget coming from the north I'd recommend P+R Metropolis (exit 1 "Merksem" with free parking on a large parking lot at a cinema and a Decathlon shop) and then take a bus or tram to the city center. The cheapest way to buy tram/bus tickets is via this site, download the app and by 2 "M tickets"

EDIT: Other good option might be P+R Merksem (exit 5 "Kleine Bareel") and there you can take tram 2 or 3 direct to the Zoo/Central Station. However I've never used this P+R myself, so I don't know exactly what the parking arrangements are, but I think it's also a big free parking lot in front of a shopping center with a large supermarket and many other shops.

The weather forecast has changed quite a bit and saturday looks quite rainy. Sunday is forecasted to be dry and partly sunny.

Let's not take any drastic decisions now, it's early and the forecast can still change over the coming days, but how does everybodies agenda look if we would move to sunday the 14th, is that even an option?

From the Zoo it self it seems the tickets are a fixed price, but if you google it seems you can get 25% off easily.

What is the best place to park my car?

I am undecided on the lenses. I was thinking about the A99m2 with the Sony 70-400G - then I was thinking about the A6400 with the 70-350G - then I thought about the A7r4 with the Canon EF 200/2.8L and the Canon EOS R with the Canon EF 400/5.6L. Thought about the Canon 100-300L. Like I said, I am undecided. I will bring the Ricoh GR3 as it is small

Probably not, but likely to be cheaper, and not bound to a specific date but a valid period.

I managed to reserve one of the free tickets that Ivo kindly offered, but happy to share the entrance fees between the participants (apart form Ivo with his subscription). We might get another discounbt via a (trusted) ticket auction site (selling per 2 tickets for around 50% of teh regular price).

Good stuff Ivo

I'm taking my Sony FE 70-300 and an old Osawa 400/5.6 OM mount (my longest lenses).

I'd love to try out a 600/4 on one of my camera's (A7ii/A7Rii) so a LA-EA4 is mandatory for AF on those bodies. I can bring the LA-EA4 and I'm willing to carry the 600/4 for you the whole day if you bring it.

But I agree that being closer to the animals in a zoo environment a 300/2.8 with a 1.4x teleconverter makes more sense than the 600/4, so why not take both when you consider my offer above
