Topic: April Foolishness 2015 Thumbnail thread Posted: 24 March 2015 at 15:34 |
2015 Thumbnails This is the thread for posting your 'thumbnails' for the challenge. It will let you build up a mini gallery of your own shots for the challenge. Rules: - no talk please, we have the Talk Thread for this purpose - there should be exactly one post for each member participating in Oktoberfest - in this post please place small versions of your shots linked to the post where the original is placed: see details below - go back and 'edit' your single post when you have a thumbnail to add for a new day - no "place holders" please; only start your thumbnails post when you have posted your first photo in the challenge How to post thumbnails Basically you want a code with this structure: What you have to do is fill in 'post' and 'thumbnail' correctly. 'post' is the address of the post that you created within the challenge photo thread. If you look at that post, find your user name on the left, then a little to the right you'll see either a little blue circle or a yellow star. Click on that and it will take your post to the top of the visible page, and then in the address bar at the top of your browser will be the exact address of your individual post. Copy and paste that in place of 'post'. 'thumbnail' is the address of your thumbnail. Your image hosting service may provide a way to return a thumbnail sized version of your shot. For instance in Flickr you can select a thumbnail size of your photo. If your hosting service does not support this, create and upload a thumbnail yourself and then use that. Copy and paste the web address in 'thumbnail'. For instance: your 'post' address is: http://www.dyxum.com/dforum/oktoberfest-day-1_topic83717_post978382.html#978382 and your 'thumbnail' address is: http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7147/6722511297_011cc2407e_o.jpg Then the resulting code for your thumbnail will be: And your thumbnail photo will 'magically' appear; and when you click on the thumbnail you will be taken to the 'original' photo in the day thread. When you add a new image, don't start a new thumbnail post, just edit your existing thumbnail post and add a similar entry for the next one, maybe with 2 or 3 spaces between the entries. Hope this helps - do ask if you need any help. When you do it it for the first time, it's a bit of a ..., well, challenge. But then you'll get the hang of it and making thumbnails becomes a piece of cake. |

I use only free range, organic pixels. Some pixels have been processed, but no pixels were injured in the creation of my images. All pixels are returned to the wild. |
