April Foolishness 2017
The long lost April foolishness exhibition!

By way of a cheap Christmas present, I give you the long lost April Foolishnesss exhibition. I’ve no real excuse for it being about 6 months late, but I hope that participants, other Dyxum members and lurkers will enjoy the opportunity to look back at what was judged to be the very best of everyone’s shots taken during the month-long challenge, as voted by the participants themselves.

In the couple of cases where there was a dead heat, I took heed of the shooter’s preference, or failing that, my own. There was a lot of good stuff posted and I direct you to the thumbnail thread to have a browse through the whole bunch...

My thanks and admiration go out to all participants, along with my apologies for the late running of the exhibition...

Thank you Bob for putting this together. Its always good to see these exhibitions. Hopefully it will give me some inspiration as 2017 has been the least productive phographially and participation wise since joining Dyxum.

Somehow I think there is a new year resolution in there.

I've always felt the April Foolishness Challenge is the best one (possibly because of the spring weather) and this episode did not disappoint. Excellent work all. Now that we are in the dark days before Christmas (most parts of The Netherlands have had the least december sun in 30 years, Maastricht in 100 years with only 8 hours of sun in december so far), it is very refreshing to see all the beautiful spring light. Thanks for all the efforts putting this together Bob!

Nice and versatile exhibition.
My eyes goes back again and again to Macca's Day 20 - Playing in the shadows at the old school gates.
This is the case in photography when many factors work very well to produce that special effect that this image has: nice light which goes through fence makes that play of light and shadows; facial and bodily expression of girl with her closed eyes, pose of her head and face, position of her hands and cutely crossed legs; flowering trees and old peeling fence paint...
All these things together create that innocent and impressionist atmosphere. Beautiful.
