I just noticed I forgot to post the outtake that went with my day 13 submission.

Here it is: Building a new house within an old shell

The evening included a walk around central Oxford with the Oxford Photographers. The keen-eyed might see that Howard_S was using an RD175 (max aperture f6.7) - an interesting choice for the fading light.

I can't resist adding a pretake from the RD-175 set. Processed in Google Photos and tweaked in Preview and Flickr's Photo Editor (chiefly to reduce the gamma setting).

RD-175 sample

This has not been through the official Minolta software for the RD-175, but uses the Picasa legacy in Google Photos to go from RAW (.MDC) to JPG. The chief drawback is that the aspect ratio gets squashed closer to 16:9 than 3:2. I was using the Sigma 18mm F3.5, which is not the sharpest cookie in the box, but it did give me a 36mm equiv. lens. Exposure was around 1/60, F6.7, ISO 800.

My plan is to process these properly and do an Open View one day with other observations ... like is the RD-175 using a 500si or a 500si Super for the camera? (Sources vary.) And thanks to Phil I now have a 500si as well as Super Soosi to work with

As an update: processed in the RD-175 software to produce a TIFF with mild sharpening for screen, and 'chromatic correction'. The aspect ratio is correct now.

I like the commitment to the RD-175 that is shown by two participants this challenge

In the Mastbos most bunkers are closed to serve as bat resting places

But there are four open to the public, two gun bunkers (not much more than a concrete cube with a hole to point the gun through), one troop bunker (see main submission day 18) and one command bunker (shown here in the outtakes)

Inside the command bunker, looking towards the observation hatch

Close-up of the observation hatch (the round hole is too small to put your head through, it was probably used for some sort of periscope)
