Comments on Day 2

gregja not one of your best - reminds me of my efforts to emulate your work.

addy landzaat interesting bike - modernist (to me) wheels in a traditional frame.

minolta_mutley I like this one a lt, subject matter, compoistion, B&W rendering - and a great lens - ace!

pegelli nicely executed shot of an interesting subject.

fennetje 47mm is an odd focal length, so odd that I hade a look in my LR catalog to if I had ever taken a shot at that length. I had, but very few and all, interestingly, with E mount lenses, took me a while to work it out - but I came to the conclusion that A-mount lenses don't report FL that accurately - 45 or 50, but never 46, 47, 48 or 49.

All a total digression from fennetje's nice shot of the padlock - though I'm not yet convinced by the bokeh of the Hexanon.

darosa no surprise to see this shot in the weekly exhibition.

CH_RED_AGAIN great in -air shot of a classic aircraft.

frolvaag I really want one of these lenses - but I think I'll give the camera a miss - great result considering the challenges.

dopol did she whisper back?

alpha_in_exile nice spring flower in not so nice spring weather.

Today I completely failed to do what I wanted to do...
I saw that frame about two week earlier and I though I will came back there and make the picture for this challenge. But 35mm is just not what it takes to make this place justice. So much time to wait for that time of day too and all for nothing. I need to come back there with proper tele and possibly in winter when that tree on the left is bare. It was two weeks ago...
Also, it was after that picture that I realized I somehow switched settings from Auto ISO to 50. I keep on doing that unintentionally somehow. Also the first picture there I did on f16 wondering why the camera focuses so bad I must have bumped the aperture ring. Not my day...

BTW I love that outtake by Phil :) For me it's better than the chosen picture.

Pffff, been busy these days. Maybe tomorrow a better shot than my desperation shot of a cloudy sky at home

@phil wood - thank you for your comments. And it's nice to hear you liked the statue (it's a brand new one).

From tomorrow i'll start testing the new firmware on the LA-EA4r (version 9) with the same lenses on the A7Rii+III.

Today i switched to the LA-EA4r newest firmware (version 9 - we did that one yesterday evening) and the A7III.

It started with a few hickups but after taking the adapter off and reconnecting everything went fine though.

So far 5 per week, more than the promised 3 per week.
Hope I can keep this pace

Had a little hick up with updating my A7iv. My LR gives some trouble , so I'll try Rawtherapee from now on. I hate subscription models for software

I'm also late getting a little more involved. I traveled for the eclipse, then spent time processing the eclipse photos, but hopefully I'm now more on track.

It's a mixed bag feeling - having caught two asian hornets (Queens). So we're avoiding 2 nests being created by those creatures (the have destroyed lots of bee hives.

The man that thought me a lot about these unwanted foreign hornets lost 8 of his 11 hives to them.

But it's still an animal we don't like to observe though (i alse caught a european hornet - which had to be released, of course. Being another more natural enemy than Minolta_Mutley).

At this moment the counter is: 2 European Hornets (ALIVE) vs 2 Asian Hornets (RIP).

As a treat i also posted an outtake of the Asian hornets on Ethanol. (i only got a cup of coffee today! ).

Harm, what you can do is convert the .arw's to .dng's using Adobes latest and free "dng converter". After that older versions of Lightroom will read these .dng's
You can see the April Foolishness 2023 exhibition here Another great show of the talent we have on Dyxum
