@PhilWood ... for your day 13 shot, I had to check AI and it said that your hopscotch grid is called a "court"

I like the symmetry of the court you took a picture of. When I played as a kid, our courts would combine boxes 2 and 3. I kinda miss those days

Today i moved up to the 300mm Sony variant (A-mount). And the weather in the evening stays nice. Most shots are taken between 19:00-20:30 in the evening around sundown.

I;m not sure I would trust AI to get anything right, bit I did some googling and found that 'court' is in common use. The layout here is the one commonly used here. I've seen a fair few kids using the new courts but none playing the game as it is intended.

I'll trust AI for something like this! I haven't seen any kids playing hopscotch in recent years, not even my own kids when they were little. Too many videogame addicts nowadays, ha. I'll have to look for a local court, get a picture of one, post it here during April!

The Thumbnail thead is filling in nicely. I hope everyone can take a little time to populate their mini-galleries over there. So nice to see the April Foolishness portfolios there, nicely formatted. It's nice to get a sense of folks' personal styles.

Well, I will probably do it. However, I am no fan of the thumbnail thread as most of you know.

This month has been busier for me than I feared. Still, I have been shooting a few foolishness photos and may get them posted. Beware: some of them will be the same one or two tulips growing in my front garden

We're over half way through the challenge. Who else needs a little inspiration? I need a little bit of new energy!!

Happy Easter to those who celebrate!

Dreadful day yesterday (Day 18), raining and stuck in traffic for hours, a 2.5 hour drive took 4.5 hours, purely down to Good Friday traffic. Lesson learnt, never travel to the West Country on such a stupid day. Almost gave up on the dumb idea of getting a shot with 200mm on APS-C in the prevailing conditions - quite suprised in the end to get something vaguely worth looking at.

Switched to the A77ii today rather than another older model - I felt I needed the boost of using a seriously good camera for a few days. At least I am away from home for a few days in a beautiful area. And I cheated a bit by mounting a nice normal range zoom for some afternoon relief (after getting the 200mm shots in the morning).

Welcome to Bideford, Phil! (Although I had to look it up for the day 19 photo.)

Estd 1998 - after your time Howard. I was surprised by the date, it looks like it has been there for a few more decades.

The bookshop in Bideford has been a moveable feast, under different owners since my time, and then located in Mill Street. I think the shop in your photo was formerly a jewellers called Truscotts, and before that another similar business dating to the early C20.
