Thanks Harm and Joe for your comments. I normally avoid being in front of the lens so day 9 was quite a departure for me, done because I'd been stuck at home all day. Day 13 was another happy result of pic-a-day and the right prime lens. This is a view on a regular walk from home, I must have seen it hundreds of times but had never before isolated this section, the 135mm on apsc was perfect for the job. |

Quick answer - not edible. These are the seed pods of a flowering eucalyptus tree. |

Day 9
alanfrombangor - Grumpy old man - a very moody photo, and perfect use of the pinhole's effects fennetje - Ashbourne Woods pine cone - I'm very impressed that you found an interesting background that mirrors the texture of the pine cone itself, and almost the same colors, making a very interesting image Day 10 gregja - For Lease - I really love all the vertical lines in this one, the strong B&W tones, and the play of light and shadow alanfrombangor - Hiker - really a beautiful abstract pinhole shot - nicely done! onsplekkie - Vogue - the shadow in the lower left helps push the viewer's eye toward the subject in the near-middle, and her presence alone in the light makes it clear she's the subject; excellent timing and composition; I also like how the tiles in the walkway create leading lines, so that when exploring the rest of the image I'm drawn to all sorts of interesting points in the distance nadk - H.C. Orsted statue - you've framed this perfectly with the statue in the right-hand 'rule of thirds' position, and the light and shadows strong and interesting |

We are half way to the challenge! Here is my personal summary...
- I planned 3/week and so far I managed pic-a-day! - Some of my photos are desperation photos which I would never post if it was not a challenge, but on the other hand, most of the photos wouldn't have been taken if it was not a challenge... Overall I think the impact of the challenge is positive! - It seems that I enter a new stage in my life - in the past 8 years it was impossible to find time for Dyxum during holidays and weekends when kids are home and I could only steal few minutes while at work, now for the first time I felt that it is much easier to find time during holidays and weekends than working days. - Pic-a-day is challenging - there are some days in which I can take many keepers, and some days with no photos. But challenging is the point of a challenge, isn't it? I still have to reply to comments and do some commenting... I'll try to catch up on commenting during this weekend... |

Glad you like my pinholes Matthew, it's a nice light lens to carry, too!
Shay, I'm pleased to be maintaining pic-a-day too, it was harder before I retired from work though the pandemic restrictions have also been a challenge to work through. We have freedom to travel now, but not to stay away overnight. |

As rovhazman said, I agree.... Thanxs rovhazman! I see that some people are changing their lens at this moment. I have been using both my indicated lenses. It isn't not allowed, I guess? |

It is allowed to keep using the lens you started with. I used both lenses at the same time.

The rule is to use two primes (or zoom ends) there is no restriction on how or when. Some do half with one then switch, others (most) carry two around all month and use whichever suits. I fall into the second category. I do try not to use one much more than the other, but don't always succeed. |

Thank you Fred! I am still looking for a cooperative model who is willing to come with me there...
Thank you Alan!
Thank you Joe! Re Day 13 - the story is just one example. Almost every public building which was built here has similar issues... ![]()
Hmm, when you say it like this, it sounds bad... ![]() Thank you! |

Time for the next four
Day 13 pegelli : A powerful image commensurate with the tragic explosion. Harm vb : Peaceful scene with the vintage motor blending with the grass. fennetje : Ours aren't out yet, I like the curly leaf snaking out to the left and the narrow dof. Day 14 Phil Wood : Urban squalor perfectly rendered in gritty mono. Harm vb : The pedestrian leans the opposite way to the building, which gives an interestingly strange effect. Fred_S : Pastel loveliness. rovhazman : I like old machinery, the character set looks strange to my eyes! Day 15 gregja : I'd have cropped this to square format to cut out the grey wall on the left. addy landzaat : What are those cylinders sticking out from the wheel hubs? Phil Wood : An unusual dedication, I see there was an Australian artist called Alison Chrystal who died in 2018, or perhaps it's also a friend's name. Day 16 Jozioau : From one extreme to the other, Joe! Excellent candid with just a hint of donut between the two women on the right. gregja : Striking colour contrasts. pegelli : Singer dominated the market for decades, a bequtifully decorated antique. |

Thanxs AlanfromBangor, Rovhazman and especially Addy
![]() Today I have gone a bit less far and just walked to the town center for my cheese on the market, just beside the leaning tower, which I put vertical on my pic of today. It was overexaggeratingly leaning backwards. BTW Addy, you were visiting the Betuwe today with a view on the Cunera-tower in Rhenen? Nicely done with that bridge.
