So, I just posted my last pic for this month. The next days I'll be on the move from the region near Nantes, through Bretagne and following the coast to home, where I'll arrive on monday.
After monday I'll give my comments on my picks of all shots. Hell of a job, but I have to. Keep up the good work for the last two days! |

Following on from Joe's selective comments Days 16 to 23, here are the last for Days 24 to 30.
Day 24: @gregja - a particularly aesthetic rendering of a web. Never seen Bokeh quite like it, and it's really pleasing. @Harm vb - the unusual pairing and composition of the daisy and garlic clove grab the attention. Macro at its best. @Fred_S - I guess just a sunny snap but the unique and finely crafted subject matter makes it worth it. @ addy landzaat - simple, symmetrical, appealing. Day 25: @Dopol - what an arresting piece of mural street art. And I rather like it with the bare tree in front. @LAbernethy - a loving tribute to one of my favourite lenses. @Fred_S - presumably you ignored the signs to get this one? @addy landzaat - as ditches go, this one looks rather appealing, but perhaps it's the Springtime that makes it so. @Phil Wood - a signature image of the London Eye. Still one of the most attractively designed of its type anywhere in the world. Day 26: @gregja - down and dirty again, with a worthwhile result for your efforts. @Dopol - odd lens to be birding with, and I wonder why you didn't just poke the lens through the opening between the bars to get a clean shot? @Harm vb - a definitive image of the French holiday. Absolutely captures the essence. A bit of fine French cuisine on the table would have made it perfect. @Fred_S - nicely spotted. Interesting set of connections and angled just right across the photo. Hard, mechanical metal detail against the OOF background works well. I would perhaps have upped the contrast or black point a little. Day 27: @gregja - easy to see why it's a favourite. Looks good. @Dopol - I guess you're saying Heineken and Jonquils define Springtime in the Netherlands? Works for me. @Pegelli - interesting photo of this waterside apartment complex. Lots to like, and to see in the details, like the pair of ducks on the jetty, and more of a concern to me, the efflorescing salts on the brickwork that are never a good sign - usually means the bricks are going to erode. @Phil Wood - so simple, minimalistic, yet elegantly attractive. @Fred_S - I'd say this is more of a defining Springtime image than Dopol's. Looks a bit strange completely devoid of people. @addy landzaat - looks a bit strange to my eyes, but certainly a bright splash of National celebration. Day 28: @Dopol - fine and arresting image in natural full colour image but looking almost like a monochrome with orange selective colour. @gregja - a lush looking reed beautifully isolated against its OOF neighbours. @Phil Wood - a fine and noble companion indeed. Lovely portrait. @Harm vb - always interesting to get such views from above looking into public spaces. Love your selected shutter speed and how it has captured the movement of the people. @Fred_S - fine composition in its viewpoint and symmetry. Day 29: @Dopol - weird what some people will do for fun. I would have thought it would get hot and stuffy inside the plastic sphere very quickly with the greenhouse effect, the exhaled CO2 and the lack of fresh air. Not to mention the possibility of a leak followed by that sinking feeling ... @LAbernethy - interesting framing of this one. Can't make out what the metallic ring actually is. @Fred_S - the BeNeLux contingent might be a bit blasé about your historic windmills but to us foreigners they are sights we never get sick of seeing. This is a fine example, looking striking from the ground level viewpoint, and set off by the dramatic sky. @Harm vb - absolutely luscious and very tactile. @pegelli - interesting structure, and a bit of a surprise to me that it's so open with large windows being a fort. Day 30: @gregja - a fitting finale to your month's worth of macro abstractions. @pegelli - looking for all the world like a bunch of floating bananas. A happy splash of brightness to lift the mood. @Phil Wood - grabs the interest by triggering the curiosity about what the distraction might be. Nice to see the picnickers out and about as the weather turns warmer. Some scarily white winter skin on show... @addy landzaat - One can only wonder why?? @KoBra64 - quite picturesque, but as an architect I can't help noticing the distress in the repaired brickwork, and wondering how on earth the residents manage to cope with the rising damp that would feed all sorts of mildew and other nasties. To be added to, as more images are posted. Edited by Jozioau - 03 May 2022 at 08:28 |

Thanks fpr your kind comments Joe! Day 24 was a quick snapshot indeed (after my trip with Domien), just to show the subject. Day 25: As mentioned before, I was just at the border of the field and did not get into the fields between the flower Day 27 was taken around dinner time, so not many people around Day 29: That's good to know! I'll keep posting them for you now and then |

I managed.
That is, I published my Day 30 shot (taken on the 27th) As always it was fun to join and be 'forced' to go out with an unusual lens. As always I planned to comment, I totally failed there. I must thank the ones that managed commenting, Especially Pegelli and Jozioau |

I was planning for a "Minolta grand finale" for the after party but was sidetracked. I also was planning to comment more but pressed for time, I failed miserably. Hats off to all; some really excellent photography on display. My series of "lens portraits" was fun to do. I tried to keep it interesting without falling into an "Amazon Product Shot" cliche. No Photo Studio Light Tent Diffusion Soft Box or Shooting Cubes were used for any of these.

I used two round makeup or shaving mirrors to get the shot of the lens taking the shot of the lens. The ring is the chrome bezels of the mirrors. |
