The resurrection of Antigoon






Both A7ii + M-Elmar 90/4 (LTM)


Antigoon was the cruel giant who levied too much tax on all the ships passing through Antwerp and was finally stopped by the hero Brabo who cut off his hand and threw it into the river. This is a creation by Bruno Kristo and is supposed to symbolise the struggle of Antwerp to keep the Schelde accessible

In a local park nearby (Park Hallehof) there is an art installation by Joanna Mowbray consisting of 7 mushroom type objects made out of cortensteel which was bought by the neighbouring town (Halle-Zoersel) and put on permanent display there

Pollution Pods | Michael Pinsky

From the artist's web site, 'Five interconnected geodesic domes contain carefully mixed recipes emulating the relative presence of ozone, particulate matter, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide which pollute London, New Delhi, San Paolo and Beijing. Starting from a coastal location in Norway, the visitor passes through increasingly polluted cells, from dry and cold locations to hot and humid.'




This was New Delhi, I believe.
