Were those all with a 7s? I am frequently in front of a lot of dark stages, the a7s has a lot of appeal :)

yes, I switched to the A7s exclusively. this concert (Selig) and the one before (Death from above 1979) were shot just with this camera and 70-200/4 and 24-70/4. need 16-35/4 instead of the 24-70 though.

high iso is very good with this cam as expected, very usable up to 20000 at least, 30k mostly is very good too (see exifs at flickr). 51200 might be good for very fast shutter speeds but when you use it to light up a dark scene the noise can kill the picture.

currently I am having a little trouble with focussing fast performers (he was kind of fast) but it is a learning process. used AF-S and variable spot focussing. next time I will try AF-C again and will be experimenting with zone focus for wide angle. and face and eye recognition which works generally good but don't know if it works for concerts too.

Photos taken at the Melbourne Town Hall last night (16th November, 2014), Melbourne Music Week, at a concert featuring Tangerine Dream, supported by local band Black Cab who have just launched their new album 'Games of the XXI Olympiad'.
Black Cab is Andrew Coates vocals and synthesiser, James Lee keyboards, guitar (my son-in-law), and Wes Holland drums. All their work is original and James was playing the mighty pipe organ for the duration of the gig, which sounded awesome.
For a sampler of their music here's their website link http://www.interstate40music.com

After a short interval between bands, Tangerine Dream cranked up the volume.

All taken with a77ii and CZ 24-70mm Vario-Sonar at 3200 ISO. Other EXIF embedded.
