Interesting to see this. Altamont Diary is a great album.

It was a "living room concert" at a friend's house in 2012, so apologies that my memory faded a little

Again listening to the new Blackmore's Night album..... and looking at some pictures of earlier concerts. This one is made in Luxembourg during the performance at Castle Wiltz.
Sony A77 with Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 @ 135mm, 2.8, 1/60 and ISO 3200.
Quit a lot of ALPHA and NEX gear, a nice collection of Sigma lenses, Dynax and M42 stuff, Gitzo's, Visico's and lots of video-equipment

Despite the raging Covid Omicron variant, the Melbourne Youth Orchestras Summer School went ahead, with strict safety protocols, including rapid antigen testing and masking.
For me a generational shift as my elder daughter the violinist was a regular participant when she was a school girl, and now her 10 year old elder daughter.
Some photos I took at the final recital after these disparate groups of kids who got together for the first time only 5 days before, rehearsed and mastered new and unfamiliar repertoires, and performed beautifully.
The performances were in the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Hall of the Melbourne Recital Centre, famed for its wonderful acoustics as well as for its award winning design. As someone once said, it feels and sounds like you are inside the body of a gigantic stringed instrument.
All photos a99ii and CZ 24-70mm f2.8 Vario-Sonnar.

These first two photos are of the youngest Casey string ensemble, Preliminary to grade 2, years 7 and up.

The next four are of the next level up, the Bremner string ensemble, grades 2 and 3, 9 years and up.
3. Giving a good impression of the mellow beauty of the venue.

It's been great to get out to live music again. At the Roundhouse in London on Monday we had

Abel Selaocoe
A cellist from South Africa

Ballaké Sissoko, Vincent Ségal
Kora and cello respectively, from Mali and France

Ballaké Sissoko, Abel Selaocoe, Vincent Ségal
All three together for an encore.

All NEX-7 and E PZ 16-50, and the last two using 2x 'precision digital zoom'.

Wonderful to see photos of live performance from opposite sides of the globe!
