I shot a series of bands performing on the stage of the Sylvan Theatre, adjacent to the Washington Memorial on the National Mall. I brought a set of primes since that's what I am used to, but I ended up using my beercan for the entire show! Even more obsessive, I shot exclusively at f/4 (wide open). It was chilly and overcast, but the beercan is a really good "people" lens :)

Some photos taken at Black Cab's live concert launch of their very highly reviewed and rated latest CD 'Games of the XXI Olympiad' at The Howler, Brunswick, Melbourne.
Rather grungy shots, taken at ISO 3200, then 6400 which was as high as I wanted to push it, and wide open aperture/shallow DOF, all a77ii with CZ 24-70 Vario-Sonar. EXIF embedded.
C&C welcome.

For these dark concerts, a f/1.4 lens (or an A7s..) would really help, but you fared well - even if it is visible you had to stretch out the cam and lens. #6 turns out very well. Love the silhouette and red light here. TFS Joe

I will probably not be utilizing my new (to me) Rokkor 58/1.2 as a staple in my rock and roll kit, but here are a few from my first show with it:
