I agree with the best light for fall colours Neil, I would call it "directional but still diffused overcast", so not monotonous pea grey but also not a blue sky.

And for Velvia (vs. Porta), I've never been a big fan of Velvia, I find it too bold/in your face. I think Porta is fine, more subdued but still pleasing if you increase the vibrance/saturation sliders a bit if the subject asks for it. In my eyes still better than Velvia with these sliders turned down. But it's very much a matter of taste of course.

Great shot at Daisy Nook, Neil - lovely colours and good framing for such a complex image; works really well!

Best regards, Neil.

Hi Pieter, yes - these leaves are very sensitive to wind and cold as well (we have a couple of these in the back garden in pots and they regularly get damaged by cold winds coming in over the Marsh!). Oh - and I think I have the little blighter spotted... A bit late for a wasp so I hope he found a decent nest to go back to!

Thanks and best regards, Neil.

Thanks Neil, if you want a closer look at the wasp see here. I only spotted it when I was back home.

I took my 7 with the Porta 160 along as well to see how this would look on film, but still about half a roll to go and then sent to a lab for processing since the photo shop I normally bring it to is closed due to the latest lock-down restrictions here . So those results will have to wait a little longer to show here.

Hi Pieter,

The best things one always has to wait for! It will be a relief from whatever the 'next phase' brings no doubt.

Good to hear we are all part of the 'lockdown club' at the moment - at least we don't feel alone any more!

Take care and best regards, Neil.

Man you folks are knocking it out of the park.
The gray conditions actually help.
Truly jealous.
