Autumn is quite different depending on where you live.
Here in New Zealand, most of our native forests are evergreen not deciduous so. although some colours might brown off, the forests stay predominantly green/brown.
Mankind has changed that in some places with exotic trees from other parts of the world. Parts of the upper Sth Island (Te Wai Pounamu) feature extensive 'Europen sty;e' Autumn colours.
Having lived in 5 continents: I've seen Autumn in quite a few iterations: the barren Loess Plateau and Gobi desert of Western China, the sparsely vegetated Namib desert of southern Africa, the colourful Rockies of Canada, the bleak greyness of Britain with pockets of wonder (Lake District) and monotone (the Moors).
So, in that vein: here are some colours shot in Autumn in their respective countries:

2. Twyfelfontein, Namibia in April.

3. Langmusi, Sichuan, China in late September

6. Namib Desert. Often there are only two colours in the Namib (blue skies and orange desert) but when there are more, green is still rare. These plants live for hundreds of years and stay a little green all year round.

7. Te Wai Pounamu, New Zealand. The southern forests are not deciduous but, in places, do brown off in Autumn.

10. Gobi Desert above Lanzhou, China. Late Autumn. Like many deserts, colours don't change, it just gets very very cold up there!

Two beautiful shot Ton, (but the second one isn't showing here, probably since it's still 'private' on Flickr, whereas the first one is set as 'public').

the first one already gives a nice autumn color Fred,

if it's going to freeze overnight, the autumn colors will come a little more I think
