Apologies for once again revisiting my reoccurring vice Every time I visit this spot I ask myself if I really need any more "Azure on a stick" shots but once I spot her I can't help myself.
Spent the better part of 3 hours with her Friday with "only" 200 shots to the card as I got home, light was crap most of the visit so spent a lot of the time just watching her hunt...perching as close as 3.5m away from me but doing her dives just a meter or so away from where I was sitting.

#1 First "contact", perched in a single pool of light.

As reliable as she was this week, almost always catching her prey in the same spot, I'll likely be back again next week with flash gear in tow hoping for that one dive shot.

If I would know the location of a kingfisher (local species) I'm afraid I would have lots and lots of shots as well.
It's one of my favorite birds.
For your shots, you had great conditions with the light falling on the bird. I'm particularly taken by #4 and #6, but the colors are great on all shots.
So I'm looking forward to the dive shots.
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken

Johan,
What a fortunate man you are to have found this favourite fishing site of your favourite subject, and how fortunate is the Dyxum community to be able to share in this wonderful find.
Beautiful images, expertly taken, and so nice that your Azure has posed in the sun's natural spotlight.
They are all so good it's very hard to pick favourites, but if I had to I'd say ##4, 7 and 8 take the cake.
Looking forward to more - this is something no-one could get sick of seeing.

Thanks.
It's one vice I don't mind having! Wife still chuckles when I go pick her up from work after my Friday walks and I have to confess to spending hours with what now feels like an old friend.

Still have my fingers crossed for "that" dive shot but just like last time I tried it baitfish is running low in this pond, once the feed dries up the bird moves on to greener pastures...last time she was gone for months.
