These are a couple of images taken in the Bay of Islands area (144 islands) of New Zealand (at the east coast of the northern island) - many of them by "sailing by", others while hiking.

A post on the town of Russell ("the hell hole of the Pacific") will follow (some pics of the Xmas parade will be included).

This post is a follow-up to my post on Muriwai.

#1 View from Flagstaff Hill to Tapeka - the large island at the horizon is Urupukapuka

#2 Bay of Islands (similar angle of view as in #1)

#3 Tapeka Beach

#4 Tapeka Beach

#5 On the way to Tapeka point

#6 "We are sailin'"

#7 Moturua Island (where James Cook obtained fresh water from a creek there, during his first voyage to New Zealand)

#8 Cable Bay

#9 "In-between"

#10 Cape Brett lighthouse

#11 A hole in the rock

#12 Another "in-between"

#13 Two islands

#14 Blossom of the Pohutukawa tree (New Zealand's "Christmas tree")

A very nice set, Waldo!

#2 is quite picturesque while being minimal.

#6 is funny and made me smile.

9, 10, and 12 are gorgeous.

#11 has nice framing.

Some of these are a tad over sharpened and saturated for my taste.

Regards
Sashi

Thank you, Sashi.

For some reason the light and the colors here are more intensive - all but two images in the set are already desaturated. Thanks for the hint as oversharpening is concerned - I forgot to switch off sharpening while downsizing.

Nice comfortable photos, nice pastels, quite exotic. Reminds me of a 60's romantic holiday adventure movie. Looks like great time was had. With Doris Day maybe

Thank you all for your kind and encouraging comments!

@Josef: That might have been the Bermudas (northern hemisphere) - in "A Touch of Mink" with Cary Grant. I think you would rather like Cary Grant in "North by Northwest" - because of the train scenes, of course!

Hello Harald;
You're close I did have a specific early Doris Day movie "Romance on the High Seas" in my thoughts one that occupies a space in my mind. I liked the movies set designs, photography, colors, maybe some late Art Deco. Your photo #6 We are Sailin looks like it's of the movie almost, w a ship, ladies and it's aqua and pink pastels (lovely), and just the sea shots in general.
The story line was frivolous screenplay banter that Hollywood was putting out in the days like a well oiled machine but fun to watch. (just to complete the movie). Like I stated, it was eye catching

"North by Northwest" my favorite Hitchcock movie. Can't think of a movie that has more iconic scenes in it, like the restaurant at Mt Rushmore, or who can forget the crop dusting airplane in the middle of no where. The train scene I remember was Grant and Eva Marie Saint (probably at the top of their game) in their cabin, professional liars in rhapsody lying to each other
Thank you for taking me back to pleasant memories...Great photos
All the Best___Josef
