A colleague contacted me with a simple question "Can you take a portrait of my dog Betty?"
I replied that yes we can do it later next week, but the answer I got back was "Then it's too late".
So I took my camera and hoped on the bike.
Betty was put asleep the next morning, because of illness, she became 9 years old. A best friend and a Heroine. Betty saved lives on several occasions as a blood donor at the Blue Star Animal Hospital.
Rest in peace Betty, you have given many moments of joy to a lot of people ❤️

A sad, poignant back story, but wonderful that you were able to create this beautiful portrait as a lasting memory.

Thank you, it's always hard to let go of your best friend. Even tough I work with this and it's a part of my profession and never get used to it or get numbed down.
This will be printed along with 2-3 other photos

What a sad story. This big but friendly looking dog reminds me of a dog i knew very well. She was also put asleep, that made us all very sad, so i know how this feels. This image looks like a great hommage to Betty, TFS Manfred.
