I don`t have any great birding lenses but found this little guy down by the river this morning, foraging for food.
Robn 1. Robin 2. I also spotted this other interesting visitor, only ever spotted one once before around three years ago and my Mrs. didn`t believe me, this is an inner city waterway, polluted in the past by years of heavy industry, it`s being reclaimed by the original inhabitants now.....not exactly going to rival Gustavs shots! Kingfisher on the River Cart! all Nex 5R and RE Auto Topcor 300mm 5.6 |

Cheers Benoni,it`s great to see them. Now I know where he hangs out I may try to get closer next time.....I also heard tales of an otter from folks who live near snuff mill bridge...

OK, my first bird effort. I know, it's only a black-headed seagull, not the most interesting. Please be gentle as it's my first effort. I'm wondering if maybe I should have stopped the lens down a bit further to get bigger DOF as I'm not sure if the bird is totally sharp. I guess I could have slowed the shutter down a bit if necessary. AF was set to wide I think.

Marcin.. Really nice series. I like the last one best for the pose.
Braism... Seagulls are always fun to shoot! I have a whole gallery of them. Common yes, but they are great candidates for catching "THE" shot. |
