These birds are in a shelter because they're injured or ill.

1. Young Bald Eagle - I've watched him for a year or so. His feathers recently went to white from the dark brown.

2. Barn Owl

3. Red Shouldered Hawk (I think).

Amateur at best with a Sony SLT-A77V, DT 16-50mm F2.8 SSM, 70-300mm F4.5-5.6 G2 SSM

Was just in California for a meeting at Asilomar Conference Center, outside of Monterey and found a dead tree with this Acorn Woodpecker and was surprised when the little one stuck its head out - this is a huge crop as I was not expecting to do any birding and only took my a77/SON 18-135mm combo. I was about 20 yards away from the tree.

This is an escapee that was spotted in Tampines, Singapore by a birder. This was the bird of the week with many shooters trying to look for this one fellow. I only managed to get this on my third attempt when a fellow birder spotted it on the tree and told me about it. Waited for 15 minutes and this beauty finally flew down. Although it was quite friendly, it does like to stay among the grass and was pretty jumpy. This were my best shots of it taken while I proned on the ground.

Common Blackbird chic, his black dad and brown mum were both at the ground searching for food for him.

Beautiful Eurasian Blue Tit chick pecking at some berries. He threw most of them on the ground though, picky. x)

He's been out of the nest for 30 minutes and is already learning to pose for pictures. (American robin)
