sharing one of the prettiest migratory birds that stopped by our little island of Singapore during the migration seasons.

@wk2004: what a superb bird! and so well captured. Glorious colours. A real jewel indeed.

Here's a couple of photos of a crested pigeon grazing at the St Kilda foreshore, Melbourne. Taken with a77ii and SAL 70-400mm G, EXIF embedded.

Jozioau, SnowFella & brettania ~ thank you :)

Yes, indeed! In fact, from a distance, one cannot really see the pinks and the purples, especially around the eyes and head area. The best view of this bird is actually the back-view. Unfortunately, I did not manage to get a shot with my a7 body... So, I am looking forward to this coming migration season to see it again (if I am lucky) and hope to photograph its back-view.

Cheers & take care!

Still trying to get anywhere near the local kingfisher's here, so far I've seen Azure and Sacred Kingfisher's at my local spot but just can't get anywhere close to them for a good shot.
Thinking about buying a fishing kayak and getting to water level to see what it could bring!

Today's efforts from an afternoon walk, heading out to the same spot tomorrow morning.

Rainbow Bee-eater, just a second sighting shot.
