Brilliant capture of this delicious breakfast. The first shot of the gull's beak stretched almost to breaking point is priceless.

Steve, Those first two, against the clean OOF backgrounds, are excellent. Especially the yellow breasted robin.
Gotta love the a99ii and SAL40400Gii, but of course its lots of kudos to the photographer.

@Mito - these are beautifully captured - crisp, sharp, natural images, well framed, and shot against beautifully clean out of focus background. Well done, and thanks for posting, They are all excellent, so it's impossible to pick any favourites.

It was so very exciting to get the privilege to photograph this Barred Owl today. He/she was just out in the middle of the day. I'd been out looking for Bald Eagles around home and saw this magnificent bird. Shot the first from the truck window. When I got out, it flew to a pine tree and I was able to slowly walk up within 50 yards to get a shot.

It was quite windy today and it shows in this, including the feathers.

This one in a more sheltered area.

Thanks for all the nice comments. Pictures were taken from a hide out on a cloudy day. That made a real challenge in terms of iso/shutter speed balancing, but the A99 and 70-400G1 really stood up for the job. Kudos for this combo

^^ A tricky bird to photograph well given its preferred environment, super shot.
