Today's twitch: A woodlark (Lullula arborea)
Species that you don't expect to see in these latitudes this early in the year, but yet this woodlark decided to come to Helsinki already few days ago...

A little better. I believe it is an Eastern Phoebe but really not sure.

I took this picture back in March, 2017...

a6500/Sigma 150-600mm C

Can anyone tell me if this is a young Bald Eagle OR a Golden Eagle?

And from todays walk.

Heron.

Darter or Snake bird. Suddenly appeared from the depths..

And if I'd been faster I would have had a BIF as he flew onto this branch to dry..

Ken,

It looks like an immature Bald Eagle. Golden Eagles' beaks are lighter and they have feathers all the way down their legs, stopping just at the top of the feet. This one looks like it has the darker beak of a 1-2 year old Bald Eagle, as well as no feathers above the feet. But from this shot, it's not a positive ID, just my best observation.

To see is to enjoy. To see beyond is to rejoice.
