Loggerhead Shrike aka The Butcher Bird. After photographing warblers and other skittish birds, it is nice to have a subject who sits still and does not mind my presence too much.

Weirdly the Osprey looks to me a bit like it's doing a handstand with its feet in the air!! Ridiculous, I know.

I think the osprey is an acrobat and gymnast. I have been watching him for three years now on his telephone pole by a canal bank. Good fisherman too; almost always has a nice sized fish. I wish I could photograph him catching one but I always seem a minute late.
