In the pond at Herttoniemi Manor Park I found this lone common goldeneye (Bucephala clangula) chick. Don't know where his/her mother and siblings were, but this little fellow was swimming and diving alone.

On a local construction site, a group of riparian swallows (Dutch: oeverzwaluwen) have started to make nests in a pile of sand. Since these birds are a protected species here, the area has been fenced, and construction activities had to be stopped.
Today, I tried to capture the birds. Since I am not a real experienced birder, it was quite a challenge. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 "The wall" A99ii + 70-400G, heavily cropped (and some help of trial versions of Topaz AI Sharpener and Gigapixel AI. Two amazing tools I must say !) Edited by Fred_S - 10 May 2020 at 17:08 |

The set looks good, mambo. I totally suck at birding so appreciate all the good shots in this thread.
