Mottled Ducks

A77, Sony 70-400G, 1/3200, F7.1, 135mm.

Great Egret on nest. Eggs should be hatching soon. An intruder got the eggs of the Tricolored Heron I posted earlier.

Eaglets fledged on March 23, age 11 weeks and 5 days. Both are flying like aces now. I know it is a lousy picture but I can not get any closer.

Finally managed to get out after nearly 3 months! (thanks to lockdown, change in job roles etc)

And just in time too for spring, as they say "love is in the air"

A very heavy crop (down to 5mp) with A7RIV+tamron 28-200mm. Very impressive performance in my books for a "superzoom" at long end wide open @f/5.6.

Spring is here. In spite of the -16 degree celsius morning we had today, I was delighted when I got home from work to see that the Western Meadowlarks are back and in full song.

These are not as sharp as I like, but they warmed my heart.

Beautiful Meadowlarks Charles. I guess I am lucky as the Eastern Meadowlarks are in Florida all year.

Today I went for a daily walk with a small telephoto lens. Unfortunately. It turned out that you had to take something bigger ...

#2 Osprey

Sony A99II with Sony, Minolta, Sigma, Tamron A lenses, Sony A7R with Minolta MD lenses, Sony A6400 with Sony E lenses.
