Peter,
You certainly are a master of avian photography, and lucky to be living in the outskirts of suburban Melbourne where your wild visitors proliferate. Love the whole recent posting. Hard to pick favourites from amongst them. |

A long and fine series of colorful birds
Nice to get them in flight and landing Hard to pick a favorite, though I prefer the bill birds you showed in the last two shots (preference towards the birds, not the photos ![]() |

Thanks Michele, Joe and Domien. I don't know about 'proliferate' Joe, I seem to feel I get the 'same olds' on a regular basis. I'd like to get out more and do some travelling for a change of subjects but as you would know the current clime is not too welcoming let alone the price of fuel!! ![]() |

One from last year as a tribute to a large population of sandwich terns that was lost completely due to bird flu. This was near Petten.
Other large populations on Texel and in Zeeland have been hit hard too. Other species here (gulls etc.) seem less vulnerable to this epidemic. ![]() I was planning to go there again this weekend to try out my A7IV for BIF, but have to find another location now after reading this news today. |

As said it was sitting on a stone. I can see my own reflection on the original eyes Pieter, It took me more then a few seconds before I understood your gannet shot. (Thought it was some flower at first) Edited by Dopol - 17 June 2022 at 07:12 |
