Thank you, Heikki. Do you maybe what bird this is?
Never seen one myself, but I think it is a dune lark (Calendulauda erythrochlamys).

Hint: Avibase checklists are fairly helpful to browse potential species seen in the area where you are (or have been), the pages for individual species include pictures from Flickr. Of course, those checklists are more useful if you have even faint idea in which family (or families) the bird in question might belong. Eg. in case of this particular bird, the foot somehow resembled feet I would associate with larks and thus I started first looking at larks seen in Namibia and as there was one with name that matches the environment that was the first bird I checked in detail...

All aviary birds from a wildlife park visit over the weekend, least they are all native ones.
Shot through wire mesh using the "old" Sony 70-200mm f4 G OSS.

And if anyone notices the new Flickr account, recent total crash of my old laptop combined with some dumb password management skills has had me loose access of the old account.

The crashing of the laptop is a bummer, but the pictures are wonderful! Don't see the mesh.

Two pictures from Namibia - both seem not fully in focus but good enough to share (IMO, YMMV )

Johan,
Wonderful shots of those native birds, and as Addy said, the OOF mesh is totally invisible. They are all so vividly lit and well photographed against their backgrounds. Tough choice but for me the Spiny-cheeked honeyeater is outstanding.

As for your old Flickr library, surely you could approach their admin team via their on-line Help function, prove your identity to them, and have them link or restore and integrate it to your current account? Good luck with that.

Great find Victor! Especially that far north!
Did you hear it sing? ebird says it has a lovely song.

This bird species has become quite common on Sakhalin.
They sing, otherwise they are not noticeable high in the foliage.
True, this male himself flew close to me.
