What species is it?

It's a common buzzard.
It ended in a fight. My shutter time was too slow for that.
But this one came out nicely.

Autumn is here Most birds have migrated south already.

My local bird club went to find the few still to migrate on a very wet and grey day. We had a great day.

1. Red-tailed hawk

2. Bald eagle

3. Greater yellowlegs

4.

5. Yellow rumped warbler

6. Magnolia warbler (a first for me)

7. Dunlin (a first for me as well)

Nice set Charles, The bald eagle is majestic!
Looking at the last one I guess the sun came out in the end.

Something a bit more mundane or even cliche, but I liked it

@mambo Your Dunlin looks a bit different from ours in the UK (I understand there are variations in subspecies) - much more like our Sanderling. Lovely shots. Small waders are my amongst my favourite winter subjects.

Triggered by your comment I had to take look on a bird guide (and online information) and since Dunlin (Calidris alpina) does not have any subspecies and even the differences between different plumages (winter, summer and juvenile) do not seem to match that picture, I started to look at other species in genus Calidris and this looks more like semipalmated sandpiper (Calidris pusilla)...

I admit that I did not do a lot of research and took the advice of expert birders that were with us. One thing to remember is that this is non-breeding plummage. Dunlins look different in spring. E-bird has examples of the non-breeding plummage here
