Great image, and such BIF shots aren't easy to capture.

I've been asked if I use some kind of bait or do something to attract their attention... to be honest? These Short-Eared Owls, when flying around looking for food, they're constantly looking around in different directions... I would think their hearing is heightened when they turn towards whatever direction (just my guess). But that's when the 20fps of the a9 (and a9II) comes in handy... you simply get more into each burst... in a 1 to 2 seconds burst, I may (and usually would) have a series of different head positions. But there have been times when it kept looking my direction for... what seems like, 10 shots in a row (but also keep in mind, 10 picture burst is only 1/2 second with the a9).

@Cucoo, many thanks. This camera certainly has amazing AF and makes these kind of head on shots so much easier.
