Can highly recommend "The Australian Bird Guide" from CSIRO, it's currently the best there is for Australian birds. Just don't buy it from the CSIRO website as it's overpriced like crazy.
I'm "guilty" of over the last few years having added all 4 main guides to our local birds.

No the camera is
600mm is double the reach of 300mm, but that does not mean you cannot photograph birds in flight with the 70-300G. Just not at the same distance.

I know, but the price (and weight) of the 200-600 withholds me...

If anyone wants to give me that lens , thanks in advance ;-)

The three amigos!

The swallows were flying high yesterday and harrying anything that trespassed within their airspace.

One head on that ventured lower.

We had two Kittiwakes arrive on our local reservoirs in North London this week. A very unusual sight, and the first I've ever seen in London.

Both shot with A7RIV and FE 200-600mm, hand-held.
