Thanks Charles, I found a new vantage spot yesterday although somewhat at risk of falling in, but at least it gets rid of the horrible brown water above I'll post more later. It's 7.30 AM with clear skies at the moment so I'm just about to leave although cold change expected later, so 'early bird catches....' and all that. ![]() |

Too right Heikki, I think it was 9C. I was interested to see this swallow take a piece of straw out into the lake and wet it before returning to then coat it in mud. Distant shot heavy crop. Then several shots just to show the incredible AF of this camera taken through the reeds without losing focus. ![]() 2 ![]() 3 ![]() 4 ![]() 5 ![]() 6 And another approach. ![]() 7 Again through the reeds and showing the mud site. ![]() 8 ![]() 9 ![]() |

Thanks Robert. They're virtually my only game in town at the moment apart from lumbering ducks, darters and the like so if people aren't too sick of them there will be more to come. On the plus side our COVID travel restrictions are due to be eased next weekend so maybe a chance for a change of scenery..... |

Today I got caught with some weird gear. Sony A6400 with Sony 70-200 / 2.8 (A-mount). There were supposed to be birds in the shade. But instead, a red-tailed hawk appeared that was clearly looking for prey.

Great shot of the Osprey Robert and Mariusz I like the Red Tailed Hawk, the above shot certainly lives up to its name. Coming in for a drink, absolutely perfect water conditions, but a bad direction light wise making them somewhat dark. I used my 1.4 TC for the first time on the A1, still sharp at 560mm. ![]() 2 ![]() 3 ![]() 4 ![]() 5 ![]() 6 ![]() |
