Great job chasing that little fella! The perched portrait is nice, these are fantastic! The first is a perfect flyby, I like the second because I see more of the face, and the dangling talons.

Presumably the bird(s) is eastern great egret (Ardea alba modesta), which is most commonly considered as subspecies of great egret, which explains the similar looks. Although at times there has been some people, who have thought that it should be considered as separate species, but I think the subspecies classification is currently the prominent choice.
