Thanks Sashi (the eye focus still amazes me all the time) @ Brandy Thanks Peter both for the comment and the satisfying dove-chase away photo |

Yes the algorithms and AF technology that recognise and lock onto fast moving eyes of various selectable species is mind blowing. Not so long back, such image capture was a matter of luck, or picking one frame out from dozens of rapid exposures, but now it's pretty well guaranteed. As both photographers and admirers of the images captured, we are almost spoiled.
Of these last few images, I love the second Eagle Owl flying against the clean OOF background, and Peter's action narrative of the Sulphur Crested Cockatoo chasing off the Crested Pigeon is a super grab. Would have been perfect had the Cockie's wingtips been within the frame, but that's really quibbling.... As for a dislike of pigeons, I know that to some they are known as 'feathered rats', but personally I find them delicious if I find them on a restaurant menu. |

I haven't had pigeon since my childhood when they were greatly sought after and enjoyed, probably when we were still on rations after WW2! As to the Cockatoo I lost the wing tip when I cropped to level the feed bowl which is tilted for drainage on a tree stump. Couldn't decide which way to go, may do a quick comparison tomorrow..... |
