Flock of great cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) flying over Lake Saimaa

α7R V + Sony FE 4/24-105 G OSS @ 105 mm, f/9, 1/1250 s, ISO 500

(Yes, I was originally photographing the dark clouds over the lake and thus the lens wasn't the most optimal for bird photography...)

Three photos of an osprey.

During the 'session' with the osprey, a belted kingfisher also came along. But this is the only photo I managed to take.

Sony a6400, Sony E 70-350 G
Sony a7R4, a6400. E, A and MD lenses.

Birdlife Finland organized Birdfair event today and of course I attended. Sony got a stand at the fair, so I even had opportunity to test some equipment...

1. Young white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla)

α1 + Sony FE 2.8/300 GM OSS + 2× TC @ 600 mm, f/5.6, 1/1600 s, ISO 250

2. Eurasian sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) and white-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla)

α1 + Sony FE 2.8/300 GM OSS + 2× TC @ 600 mm, f/5.6, 1/1600 s, ISO 160

Yes, that lens was borrowed, the camera and teleconverter were mine. And while a fellow Sony bird photographer tested that lens with my teleconverter (as Sony didn't have one on the stand), I used my own primary kit to capture this:

3. Eurasian sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus)
(Different individual)

α1 + Sony FE 5.6-6.3/600 GM OSS @ 600 mm, f/6.3, 1/1600 s, ISO 250

After spending few hours at the fair, I moved to the nearby fields of Etu-Viikki to check if there is change to see some more birds and there was:

4. Flock of common linnets (Linaria cannabina)

α1 + Sony FE 5.6-6.3/600 GM OSS @ 600 mm, f/6.3, 1/1600 s, ISO 250

5. Common linnets (Linaria cannabina)

α1 + Sony FE 5.6-6.3/600 GM OSS @ 600 mm, f/6.3, 1/1600 s, ISO 250
