Dear Roger,

I finally took the time to watch this last night and thought it a very interesting and insightful interview. I know from my son's and my own experience of how these sorts of interviews can go but, in this case, the interviewer clearly had a connection with the subject of the book and took time to explore your own thoughts behind it and the effort you're gone through to get it to where it is now.

I must admit I wished they had given a single 'full' example of one of the pages, combining the image with someone speaking the associated lines with it but I suspect they had limited time to do that. I do so dearly hope this finds a greater audience and it would be interesting to see how UK 'Veterans' would react to it - some of the poems are from the First World War and are of British origin and there is continuing interest now in those times and, finally, finally, the real recognition of the horrors they went through between 1914 and 1918 - and, especially, beyond. Strange how it takes the loss of all combatants and their personal experiences to make their experiences 'real' somehow.

Finally - I also learned a couple of things as well: First - what you actually look like; and, related to that, what a fine and upstanding young man you appear to be!

A real pleasure in seeing this and, clearly, I wish you every success with it going forward; please keep us updated of progress etc.

Take care and all our best wishes for 2024! All the best, Neil.

Thank you Neil. The interviewer and I had a few minutes to talk before the on-camera interview and, I agree, she did a very good job of leading me through the book and its development with her questions. As to the words accompanying each image - so significant that I probably believe that what is more important in the book are the words, not the images. Taken together the total is greater than the sum of the parts I believe.
