Some of you know of my book "Remember", a tribute to military veterans and their families. It is comprised of thirty-two images with each image accompanied by a related quotation, poem, song lyric or brief essay. Most, if not all, of the images have appeared on Dyxum. The book this year will make its public release near Veterans Day in conjunction with a three-month exhibition of all the images and accompanying words at the Florida state (U.S.) Capitol's main exhibition gallery. This
link is for a video review by Ted Forbes, arguably the most important reviewer of photography books in the U.S. The review begins at about 1:36.

I watch The Art of Photography regularly but not always, missed this one. High praise for your work, Roger. And I feel it is deserved praise.

Your link is part way through the part where he is talking about your book, this is the link to the beginning of your review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xaQpljVAbQ8&t=97s

I remember how at university I wrote an argumentative essay about studying abroad in such a style as on this site. I thought that I would go study abroad and stay there, but I am glad that I stayed and connected my life with photography. Hi! I have not yet seen your work on the forum, but I watched the video review, and I want to say that these are great photos!

A worthy review, Roger as far as I am concerned.

The book contains classic words - which, in themselves, would be beyond reproach for the messages they give. What really works, and works at all sorts of levels, is the careful matching with images; not those of the horrors of war, but of memories and 'what might have beens' of the people lost or damaged by such actions.

It fully deserves the praise we see here and elsewhere but, what it really needs, is to catch the eye, heart and soul of a publisher to make it happen as fully as it deserves.

Don't give up hope, Roger - one will appear I have no doubt.

Take care and best regards, Neil.
My Mantra: "Comment on other's work as you would wish to have yours commented upon". Go on - it's fun!

Thanks all for the comments.

owenn01 - Am glad the book resonates the way you describe it - what I intended. Thanks for the review and comment.

Note to others - owenn01 (Neil) has seen a copy of the book.
